Noise Thermometry - Page 8
Let’s first provide some background by describing
Johnson noise. What is Johnson noise?
In 1927, John Johnson first noted that there was a fundamental
noise generated by resistors.
In 1928, his colleague at Bell Labs (Harry Nyquist) explained
the phenomenon and showed that the RMS noise generated by
a resistor is given by a simple equation.
