Johnson noise thermometer - using Johnson noise to make a thermometer

By measuring the RMS noise signal from a resistor over a known bandwidth and its resistance, we can determine its true thermodynamic temperature from a purely electrical measurement, and completely independently, of any property of the resistor itself and of ITS90.
